Entrepreneurship at Fairfax High School

Asha, a recent Fairfax High School graduate, has been working with the Vendor Manager (Natalie) of the Melrose Trading Post to learn how to run her own business.  On her own, Asha taught herself jewelry making and has been creating her own jewelry for years.

Through the Greenway Arts Alliance and the Greenway Institute, Asha was given an opportunity to sell her jewelry at the Melrose Trading Post.  In exchange for a free booth, she received first hand experience of selling her creations.  With some mentorship from the Greenway / MTP staff and a few willing MTP Vendors, Asha’s business has blossomed.

Asha’s brand is called Nameless Jewelry… and she even has her own website!   She has business cards, a signature display set up and very friendly customer service skills.

As a recent Fairfax High School graduate, Asha will continue to support our efforts to help other Fairfax students pursue their own business ideas.  She will also be in the market selling her jewelry once in a while.

Be sure to say hello when you see her in the market!
