Local Artists
collaborate with Greenway staff on designs

The Melrose Trading Post Gift Shop is a crossroads where Greenway Arts Alliance collaborates with the LA creative community to support Fairfax High School.  Each collection is designed to create space for LA artists, makers and designers to create exclusive artwork and design exclusive apparel, accessories, apothecary goods and more – all fundraising for Greenway Arts Alliance’s Programs and Fairfax High School’s Student Activities Budget.  Each collaborator is paid upfront at a fair wholesale price, and then we promote the collaboration together.

At Greenway, everything is a learning opportunity, especially when students express interest in learning new skills.  We use the process of setting up and launching this shop as a learning opportunity for student interns from Fairfax High School and local universities.   These student interns work side by side with Greenway staff to influence design decisions, measuring, weighing, photographing, promoting and packaging products for the shop.

Student interns have influenced the different versions of our fundraising shop over the years, but this is the first time we’re selling online.  Thank you for checking out our shop and supporting the arts in LA!

The Collections

The Melrose Apothecary Collection

The Melrose Apothecary pairs the vibrance of rose with calming scents of lavender & chamomile.   This collection is inspired by a stroll through the market on a Sunday:

vibrant, relaxing & lush

Melrose Apothecary is a high quality collection of handmade self care goods, created in collaboration with makers from the Melrose Trading Post to fundraise for Greenway Institute for the Arts’ After School Arts Classes which are free for Fairfax High School Students.

Classes include theater, voice, dance, spoken word, film and the “Arts Circle” art therapy group.  Learn more about Greenway Institute for the Arts.
