Monthly Vendor Wisdom

We get the best ideas from our vendors, and here are our two favorites of the month…

1. Protect Your Dogs in the Heat

The majority of walking surfaces in the market are asphalt, so it is important to be aware of our 4-legged friends. They are closer to the heat, and their sensitive paws can burn easily. If you do choose to bring your dog to the market, bring a water bowl and get little shoes to protect your pup’s paws. We’ve seen patrons bring their little dogs in strollers, and dedicated folks carry their big dogs over the hot spots on the ground. We love these articles from Pawsitively Pets and Tomlinson’s Pet Supplies (click the links for full articles) on ways to help your dogs avoid paw burns and overheating this summer.

2. B.Y.O.B. – Bring Your Own Bags

Many vendors want to be more environmentally-conscous in their business practices. One way to help is to bring your own reusable bags to carry your purchases from the market. This not only saves vendors from tracking down plastic or paper bags, it also gives them more time to find and make the awesome things they bring to the market!
