25 Oct 25th Anniversary of Greenway Arts Alliance
Greenway Arts Alliance celebrated our 25th anniversary on the weekend of October 22 & 23.
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, Greenway Arts Alliance hosted a special day on stage at the Melrose Trading Post. Festivities included the MTP first annual dog costume contest!
The contest and the entire event took place on the Greenway Amphitheater in the Purple Section of the market. Each contestant walked their pup down the green carpet on the stage, then paused to be appreciated by the crowd and the judges.
We had an excellent panel of judges, including Ronald Wilson of Rhinestone Master Creations.
The judges picked the top three, and then the event M.C., Alex Alpharaoh lead the crowd in picking the top winners by applause. Queenie the St. Bernard dressed as a Rockford Peach won first place, Bacon dressed (and spun) like Wonder Woman, and third place went to Nikolas handmade who the Grinch costume for his pup!
Thank you to our sponsors for making this contest extra special:
Bowie Barker, Rhinestone Master Creations,
Rad Seams, Healthy Spot, Tailwaggers,
Kiwi Willow, Bone Amis, Paws LA and The Puppy Bakery
Emcee Alex A. Alpharaoh brought his great energy to the event!
The Greenway Institute for the Arts student cohort performed a compilation of songs from the show Hamilton.
Local dignitaries were in attendance to celebrate Greenway’s anniversary. Included in the event were Fairfax High School Principal Leonard Choi, LAUSD Boardmember Nick Melvoin, district representative Paul Koretz, and Mayor of West Hollywood Lauren Meister!
For the afternoon, Music Coordinator Martin Diller put together this incredible band of musicians who have all played the MTP Stage. We called it the MTP Mega Band, featuring Sydney Raneé, Kenton Chen, Molly Miller, Ben Rose, Andre De Santana and Javier Santiago!
The program for the event features artwork created for our 20th anniversary by Shelley the Artist.
