As Los Angeles pushes back against the ICE raids in our communities, it is important to be informed on how to be a positive support, and how to protect yourself if you’re undocumented.

Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) was founded in 1986. CHIRLA is a California leader with national impact made of diverse immigrant families and individuals who act as agents of social change to achieve a world with freedom of mobility, full human rights, and true participatory democracy. CHIRLA’s mission is to achieve a just society fully inclusive of immigrants.
CHIRLA is part of the Immigrants are Los Angeles Coalition, an advocacy group for immigration rights, process improvements and improving access to vital services, housing, worker protections, and the social safety net.
They offer extensive resources on how to protect yourself and your rights in English and Spanish, including documents and best practices.
As an ally and neighbor, supporting organizations like CHIRLA is important, so they can continue their work on the ground supporting people directly impacted by these devastating raids. We can support their work by volunteering, making a donation, or becoming a sustaining member.
