Apothecary Goods for the Soul
A handmade body butter or perfume is a great way to bring nature’s beautiful ingredients into your body care routine. Artisan apothecary vendors at MTP use quality ingredients and are inspired by the needs and likes of their customers. We’re spotlighting three artisan vendors in our community:
Marianne Ndaiye and her family run Body Butter Lady (pictured above). They have been at MTP since 2010, growing their business to include multiple market locations, and a brick and mortar location in Downtown Inglewood (320 S. Market St., Inglewood CA 90301).
The recipes for body butter, lotions, soaps, perfumes and more are all developed by Marianne, and shaped to perfection by customer feedback.
Another local favorite Apothecary Maker is Nena’s Organics. Nena recently added a baby care line to her collection, in honor of her nephew who was just born last Sunday! Nena’s line boasts facial care, hair care, and skincare products all made by Nena herself.
She also opened a brick and mortar location at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, and is going to be moving to a new location in Marina Del Ray later this year.
Her current store is located at 3650 W Martin Luther King Dr. Suite 116, and she hosts workshops and events in this space in collaboration with Artisans from the MTP Vendor Community.
Kendall Cares is a brand that is new to MTP, and our team is so impressed with their business. Kendall is a senior in high school who loves chemistry and who has a strong desire to make a difference.
She developed these handmade bath & beauty products to help people looking for better quality apothecary products, and to fundraiser for for Lupus Research. Kendall’s Mom, Robyn, is a Lupus Warrior, and Kendall’s goal is to support the research to find a cure for her Mom and others like her.
