Must-See Artists at the Post

Must-See Artists at the Post

Melrose Trading Post is much more than a vintage haven – it’s an outdoor artisan market with talented creators. Artists – including illustrators, painters, sculptors, designers, and more – are a true staple of the Post. Here are just a few of our “can’t miss” art vendors at MTP.

1. Akop Tashchyan

The Tashchyans set up every Sunday in spaces G17 and G18 with a mix of original artwork and vintage jewelry. Akop’s framed illustrations and paintings are contemporary and whimsical, ranging from abstract portraits to colorful renderings of plants and animals imbued with a sense of wonder.

2. Marz Jr

Comic artist Jason Marz digitally illustrates iconic landmarks in Los Angeles and beyond in his signature style. In his booth, he offers prints, posters, and even blankets featuring his art. Celebrating every spot in LA, from the historic to the niche, Marz Jr.’s tributes aren’t just great treats for LA residents but also perfect souvenirs for anyone visiting the city.

3. Praisey LA

Eve J Wilson’s massive colorful paintings feature memorable remixes of familiar characters and pop culture symbols. You can usually find her art set up in space G5.

4. Hood Finch

David Finch’s viral art catalog incorporates a profound sense of humor, featuring his minimalist comic illustrations. In the Hood Finch booth, you can pick up a copy of his coffee table book or take home a framed piece of the comic panel that speaks most to you.

5. Karlos Marquez

If you suddenly find yourself transported to a fine art gallery while roaming around the market on the Sunday, it means you have landed in Karlos Marquez’s incredible booth. Karlos has a background in street art, and his pieces are influenced by the vibrant colors and typographic elements of urban graffiti. His space is so striking that it became a photoshoot set for Reformation’s models behind the scenes of the Melrose Fashion Week runway.
