Jia of Forbidden Boutique creates handmade silk floral accessories using traditional Chinese handcrafting methods.

Nature is all around, us and people like to showcase the beauty of nature in their home and through their fashion choices.

The Melrose Trading Post hosts several makers and curators who focus on botanical and floral themes in their work.

Jia (seen above) of Forbidden Boutique learned traditional Chinese methods for creating handmade silk flowers and butterflies.  She has taken a modern approach by focusing on accessories for everyday or special occasions.

Steven of West Coast Kimonos works with his mother to create kimonos and accessories with vintage silks that feature natural and floral patterns.

 

Steven of West Coast Kimonos is back at MTP, selling his gorgeous collection of silk kimonos.  Many of these kimonos are made with upcycled vintage fabrics that feature botanical, animal and floral prints. The best part, his Mom sews every piece! 

 


Artist Noah Gottlieb focuses on painting flowers on accessories alongside his booth of original artwork.

Artist Noah Gottlieb is inspired by nature in his work, and his hand-painted flower hats are a big hit.
