MARCH 16 — My Crown, My Way by Naheemah McMicheaux McCallop and Namia McCallop
In “My Crown My Way,” the mother and daughter authors have created a children’s book that amplifies the importance of the C.R.O.W.N. Act. Naheemah McMicheaux McCallop and Namia McCallop wrote the book to embolden black girls and boys to wear their crown with confidence and bring awareness to how together we can help make discrimination against race-based hair texture and protective styles such as braids, locs, twists, and knots in the workplace and public schools illegal in the U.S. This multi-generational book is for children, parents, caregivers, educators, and everyone else who wants to learn more about the beauty of black hair and why it should be celebrated cross-culturally.
