Merry Melrose – Thank you!

Merry Melrose – Thank you!

The holiday season at Melrose Trading Post this year was one to remember! Merry Melrose took place throughout December, transforming MTP into a one-of-a-kind holiday market with seasonal fun and celebrations for patrons and vendors alike.

Let’s take a tour through all of the special moments Merry Melrose brought to the Trading Post!

SANTA CLAUS AND HIS ELVES AT MTP!

Santa Claus himself came to MTP for three consecutive Sundays! MTP patrons, staff, and vendors had a blast meeting Santa and taking complimentary photos at his workshop.

PHOTO WALLS AND ART INSTALLATIONS

In addition to Santa’s workshop, we partnered with artists Jewel Sales and Corie Mattie to create incredible artistic photo opps stationed throughout the market. Corie Mattie live painted her doves mural and even worked with MTP students to teach them about the world of street art. The MTP team also introduced a flower wall and mirror wall which will remain staples in the market after Merry Melrose.

MÁGICO TOY DRIVE

We partnered with Mágico Toy Drive (run by Fairfax High School Alumna, Virginia Bulacio) as a collection location this holiday season. MTP patrons donated toys for kids in need!

LITTLE WOMEN BALLET

The Little Women Ballet (@littlewomenballet) joined us for a series of pop up performances throughout the market, enchanting patrons with their merry ballet dances.

TYPEWRITER POETRY

Writers from the LA Poet Society (@lapoetsociety) joined us every Sunday to offer poetry on demand. What’s a more magical gift than a handwritten poem? You can still find LA Poet Society on Sundays at MTP after Merry Melrose!

VENDOR CONTESTS

Vendors competed to have the most festive shop and ugliest sweater for the chance to win a free booth. Congrats to our most festive booth winners Ella Whitfield, Vellvet, the RH Factor, Catalina Contreras, and Desert Moon, as well as our ugly sweater winner Neil Schutzer!

JACK & SALLY SKELLINGTON

Jack and Sally, the stars of Tim Burton’s classic animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas, joined us for our Twisted Christmas Eve market! Patrons and vendors got to meet and take photos with the beloved Pumpkin King and Queen as they explored the Trading Post.

HOLIDAY CAROLERS

Carolers returned to the market to spread holiday cheer. Patrons and vendors enjoyed singing along to their favorite carols.

Join us again in 2024 for another MERRY MELROSE!
