Plant Gods

Plant Gods on Instagram

“I don’t sell plants, I sell ART,” says Jamar Jackson of Plant Gods. He recycles, repurposes and reuses interesting pieces of found wood and adds plants to create unique artistic pieces. He collects wood that has character, cleans it, polishes it and even makes the frames, all by hand. He has been at the market for over 20 years, focusing on the wood pieces for the last nine. His plants are largely sourced from vendors at the Market and incorporated into the pieces, no two of which are the same. What makes him special? “I don’t make stuff for other people,” he adds. “I make stuff that I love. Then the same types of people come, and they like it too. It’s organic!”
